When I couldn’t work on the boat, I started putting together documents for an "Owner’s Book" binder. I wanted all the certificates, safety equipment information, outfitting manuals, maintenance history, and phone numbers in one place.
The inspiration was from the so-called "Blue Book" on Merchant Marine ships that have certificates and regulatory information for U.S. Coast Guard inspectors. Jade is registered with the Coast Guard but not the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Equipment
I was trained to be an engineer, and information is as important as the tools used to fix equipment. Here’s what I’ve found and keep records on:
